Finally… Pitching Data that helps pitchers
GET HITTERS OUT.
Pitching data has become overly complicated. Coaches and players need in-game data that ultimately helps pitchers do their job: GET HITTERS OUT. Hitting Approach’s platform will allow you to log pitches, location and results, providing instant post-game feedback and data and charts with a massive amount of filters allowing pitching coaches and pitchers to figure out what they do well and what they need to work on to miss more barrels.
PITCHER’S SUMMARY
-
Each pitcher’s main page features basic data on what percentage of the time each pitch is thrown, how often they throw it for a strike, how often each pitch is used as an out pitch, and more.
-
A composite of all pitches thrown in a season can be seen by going to the pitching page and clicking on a pitcher’s name on your roster.
-
Every pitch a pitcher throws is placed into a sequencing chart that shows how many times a pitcher throws each pitch in succession. Want to know if someone doubles or triples up on a pitch often? Use this chat.
-
Pitchers usually fall into patterns. This chart shows the use of different pitches per count.
FILTERABLE IN-GAME DATA
-
Filter every pitcher’s data in Batting Average, Contact %, Whiff %, Take %, and Spray Charts on pitch type, runners on base, batter handedness, count, individual batter, or opponent.
-
Want to know how often hitters make contact with certain pitches in certain areas of the zone?
-
How often does a pitcher generate whiffs? Where? What pitches? What counts? Against who?
-
What pitches and zones are generating hitter takes? Are pitchers freezing hitters in certain locations/counts? What are hitters seeing well/not seeing well?
-
Where are hitters putting balls in play? Ground balls? Fly balls? Line Drives? How hard are balls being put in play? (COMING SOON!)
-
How hard are balls being put in play? Where and on what pitches are pitchers generating soft, weak, medium, hard, and “rocket” contact?
PITCHER’S POSTGAME REPORT
-
Postgame reports are sent to players immediately via email, making sure that pitchers assess their outings when they are as fresh as possible in their minds.
-
Pitcher’s postgame reports are loaded with data including pitch locations, whiffs, hard hit balls, even counts, 0-0 counts, leverage counts, behind in the count, and more. Reports also include advanced metrics such as chase rates, swing vs. whiff rates, and more.
-
Pitchers rate themselves on how they controlled their emotions, adjustments, pre-game preparation, dealing with adversity, as well as answering short answers on what went well, poorly, and adjustments needed for the next outing.
-
Coaches are notified when post-game reports are completed. Coaches can then go in and make comments in the note section at the bottom.
